Walk in the garden with us and learn about the native trees, fruits, vegetables and herbs. We will share with you the story of Saifana, our daily garden activities and the natural farming practices we’ve been implementing for 7 years.

sasak cuisine & traditions

More than a cooking class, dive into the rich Sasak culture (tubruk coffee, sarong, betel nut...) and learn to prepare authentic Bayan food using organic produce you’ll harvest from the garden. Under the guidance of Rinda and Nia, you will be using time-honored methods, relying solely on firewood, and traditional tools.

kids garden tour

We'll embark on a adventure where kids can explore the garden and nursery, observe insects, and interact with the farm animals. They’ll get the chance to taste unique fruits, vegetables, and herbs and plant seedlings in the garden. This workshop is designed for kids to explore independently, with guidance from our team. Parents are more than welcome to join, but if you'd prefer to relax and have some time to yourself, that's perfectly fine too!

Places to visit

Climb mount rinjani

Rinjani is the 2nd highest volcano in Indonesia (12,224 ft). Tailor-made hikes to the Rinjani can be organized by local trekking companies. Recommended companies : Green Rinjani / Rinjani Women Adventure

DIscover sasak culture in bayan

Bayan is home to the unique religion Wetu Telu, which combines the original Sasak animism beliefs with Islam and elements of Hinduism. One of the oldest and most important mosques in Lombok, Masjid Kuno (1634), is in Bayan.

Saifana is only 20 minutes drive from Senaru. Be ready to venture in the lush jungle, meet some monkeys, climb a few hundreds stairs and cross a river before reaching the waterfall.

reach the top of Pergasingan hill

If you like challenges, hiking and beautiful views, this is for you! It takes two hours to reach the top of the hill and you will have a breathtaking view over Mount Rinjani, Sumbawa island and Sembalun’s fields.

Day trip to the secret gilis

An hour away from the farm you will find the less known Gilis of the East which are pristine white sand beaches.
- Gili Kondo : best for snorkeling and camping, no one lives there so if you are lucky, you’ll have the island for yourself
- Gili Bidara : fishermen island
- Gili Petagan : beautiful and wild mangroves.

Meet the traditional weavers

Weaving is a big part of Bayan cultural custom. Visit the traditional weavers and their shop across from the bamboo mosque. They will be happy to show you their weaving looms and natural dyeing techniques.

Getting around

The best way to explore Lombok is by riding a scooter. You can rent a scooter at the farm (80.000 IDR/ day) or we can arrange a car with a driver.
